How to prepare
- Carry your prescription, previous films and reports.
- For contrast studies, come after 4 hours of fasting and bring a recent serum creatinine report.
- Tell us about any allergy to iodine or contrast, asthma, kidney disease or metformin use.
- Wear loose clothing without metal buttons, hooks or zips.
- Women who may be pregnant must inform the staff before the scan.
- Plain CT of the head or KUB needs no preparation and can be done immediately.

Questions patients ask
Is the radiation dose safe?
Doses are kept as low as reasonably achievable and every scan is done only on clinical indication. The benefit of a correct diagnosis far outweighs the small risk.
Do I need an appointment?
For a plain CT you can walk in. Contrast studies are better booked in advance so that fasting and kidney reports are ready.
Will I get films and a CD?
Yes — films, a CD of the full study and a printed report, plus a digital copy on WhatsApp.
